Maxim Cournoyer 6e71e71952 maint: Remove a workaround in Makefile.am. 
This workaround was made obsolete by commit a23789bbbd, which prevented the PO
files from being spuriously updated upon running 'make'.

* Makefile.am (release) <git checkout>: Remove command.
